Angle closure glaucoma is caused by sudden or chronic increase of the eye pressure due to blockage of the internal drainage channel of the eye. It is caused when the iris bulges forward to narrow or block the drainage angle formed by the cornea and iris. It is treated with drops, laser or lens removal. Acute angle-closure glaucoma is a medical emergency and needs urgent attention.
